God did not intend for you to fight your battles alone

The importance of community

Even when we have God with us and on our side, sometimes we can’t fight our battles alone.

In Exodus 17 we read about Moses the man of God, who stood on a hill watching Joshua and his army go to battle against the Amelekites.

The Scripture tells us Moses held the rod of God in his hands! And yet he still grew weary.

He watched the battle being fought in front of him go from a winning battle to a losing battle.

As he held his arms up in the air the Israelites would win and as he dropped them down they would falter.

But he didn’t have to do it alone.

His brother Aaron and Nun came alongside Moses and lifted his arms up!

They held them up for him and watched that as they stood by and supported him the battle was won and the Amalekites were defeated!

We can’t always do it alone, no matter how much we lean on God.

Sometimes He brings help in the form of community, to share our battles with, to support and pray for one another, and to know we aren’t alone!

Deborah Retreats is one way women can come together in community and support one another in this way.

Make new friends and grow in wisdom from likeminded women who love Christ and can share their stories and battles.

Come as you are and let’s break bread together.
